Biography
I remember the day I won a hen at a horse show. At the sound of a bell, all the children ran into the show ring to try and catch one of a variety of small animals. I had my eye on a puppy. Off I ran; and, I grabbed the pup up in my arms. Then, I heard my parents shouting "Put Him Down! Marcie! Put Him Down!" So, I did. The only animal left for me was a chicken. I am sure I was disappointed; but, I treasure this photo of me and my chicken!
I was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa. When I was 14 years old, my family relocated to Morro Bay, California. In 1980, the family returned to Iowa where I later attended college and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.
After college, I moved to Florida to seek employment. I worked in retail management for several years. My favorite job was managing a small furniture store, which is where I met my husband, Jeff.
After my youngest child started school, I started taking classes in stained glass and fell in love with the art. My new found passion motivated me to make room in my basement to set up a studio. I have made many panels and windows. In an effort to find something unique to do in stained glass, I made a few large cats and dogs. I sold them on Ebay. Now, I sell Funky Pets through my Web site and through retailers.
At present, I am attending college part time seeking a degree in Graphic Design with emphasis in Web design. I have developed several web sites for local businesses and find creating on the computer fun and challenging.
